Daniel Lanois (born September 19, 1951 in Hull, Québec) is a Canadian record producer and singer-songwriter. He has produced albums for the wide kind of creative person & freed the total of albums of his have operate. Creative person he has worked using include Bob Dylan, U2, Peter Gabriel, Robbie Robertson, Ron Sexsmith and Nash the Slash.
He began his production career working around his have studio, Grant Avenue Studios inside Hamilton, Ontario. He worked sustaining the total of local elastic, virtually all notably Martha and the Muffins, for whom his sister Jocelyne played bass.
When existence found by Brian Eno and working collaboratively with him in occasionally of Eno's have projects, his career was given the brobdingnagian boost after Eno invited him to co-create U2's album The Unforgettable Fire.
Bono of U2 recommended Lanois to Bob Dylan in the late 1980s; in 1989 Lanois produced Dylan's Oh Mercy, widely considered one of Dylan's greatest later albums. Eight years late Dylan & Lanois worked together in Time Out of Mind, Dylan's first album since 1990, which won the Grammy for Best Album inside 1997.
